Tom & The Magic Mirror

Tom & The Magic Mirror was a children's play performed and filmed by serving prisoners at HMP & YOI Doncaster.
Our team worked every day for two weeks, supported by students from the Central School of Speech and Drama. The project focused on bringing prisoners closer to their families using the medium of drama and performance, specifically aiming to improve the relationship between father and child, whilst engaging prisoners in a challenging and rewarding environment.
- Synopsis -
A young boy named Tom is picked on by his big brother Eddy. Eddy makes Tom feel so bad that one morning when he goes into the bathroom to brush his teeth, he looks in the mirror to see his reflection leaving him.
On a quest to get his reflection back, Tom climbs through the mirror and is transported into a magical world. On his adventure he meets a jolly woodcutting bear, three witches whose powers do not work and an evil captain called Mack and his motley crew of pirates.
Will Tom be able to find his reflection and return home or will he be trapped in this magical world forever?
The DVD edit of Tom & The Magic Mirror will be available to view in our portfolio shortly.
